Why we’re here
Help shouldn’t cost anyone their independence.
Simeon makes it simple and safe for older adults to get help with their online life from family and trusted helpers, while they stay in charge of what is shared, with whom, and for how long.
Our story
Online life got harder. Help stayed improvised.
We have spent more than 20 years in cybersecurity and digital identity. Over that time, we have seen how digital tools can leave people behind.
Banking, healthcare, taxes and appointments have moved online. Each one adds another account, another password, another verification code. For many people, keeping up becomes discouraging, and that cuts them off from essential services, from information and from the people around them. It also leaves them more exposed to fraud.
So someone steps in, usually a daughter, a son, or a nurse during a visit. Passwords end up in text messages and on sticky notes. Nobody knows who still has access to what. And the person being helped slowly stops doing things for themselves.
We believe essential online services shouldn’t be a privilege for people who are comfortable with technology. They should be simple, inclusive and designed for everyone, especially our elders.
That’s why we founded Simeon: to make the digital world more accessible, starting with older adults and the people who help them. We focus on the relationship between them, so every interaction builds dignity, confidence and trust.
What guides every decision we make
- You stay in charge. Help is given one task at a time, for as long as you choose. You can take it back whenever you want.
- Your information is yours. Everything is protected by end-to-end encryption. We can’t see your data, and neither can anyone you haven’t chosen.
- Help, not takeover. Our assistant explains what a website is asking you to do. It guides you, and the decision always stays with you.
- No one should carry it alone. Up to six people can share the work of helping, so one family member doesn’t become the only person everyone relies on.
The team behind Simeon
Built by security experts. Designed for families.
Simeon was founded in Bordeaux, France, by a team that has protected sensitive systems for governments, banks and payment networks, and helped write some of the standards that keep digital identity secure.
Before building Simeon, we spoke with more than 350 people across three generations: older adults, the family members who help them, and the professionals who visit their homes. Simeon is shaped by what they told us.
